AG New England Holds Advanced Meat-cutting Seminar

PEMBROKE, N.H. -- Experienced meat cutters from a number of independent stores supplied by Associated Grocers of New England further honed their skills at a Certified Angus Beef Advanced Meat-Cutting Seminar the co-operative held recently at its distribution center here.

The seminar, available exclusively to Certified Angus Beef-licensed retailers, offered new meat-cutting methods that yield higher quality, more consistent product, new cuts, and merchandising opportunities with increased gross profits and greater customer satisfaction.

“It's amazing how much there is to learn,” noted AG New England meat & seafood purchasing manager Robin Plamondon. “Retailers interested in making the meat department a signature identity of their stores came away with a wealth or new information they can put to work right away.”

Owned entirely by independent retail grocers as members of a cooperative, AG New England is the largest retailer-owned, wholesale grocery distribution center in the region, serving independent retail food stores in Maine, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and the upstate New York/Albany area.
