AG New England Names Center Store Procurement Manager

PEMBROKE, N.H. -- Associated Grocers of New England said yesterday it hired Karen St. Louis as center store procurement manager, replacing Clem Deschenes, who has taken the new position of director of procurement strategy.

St. Louis reports to v.p. wholesale merchandising and procurement Rick Wheeler, the company said. "Karen will be responsible for daily operations of our grocery purchasing team," noted Wheeler in a statement. "She will focus the grocery team to face future challenges of maximizing grocery sales within supermarkets supplied by AG New England."

St. Louis joined AG New England from C&S Wholesale Grocers in Windsor Locks, Conn., where she was strategic pricing manager. She also served in the areas of strategic pricing, procurement, category management, and logistics with Supervalu in Andover, Mass.

AG New England is owned entirely by independent retail grocers as members of a cooperative and is the largest retailer-owned, wholesale grocery distribution center in New England. The company serves independent retail food stores in Maine, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and the upstate New York/Albany area, including almost 500 supermarkets and convenience retail stores.
