AG New England Names Head of New C-store Division

PEMBROKE, N.H. -- Stephen Felton has been promoted to the position of general manager of Associated Grocers of New England's convenience store division.

Felton's appointment as general manager of the brand-new division became effective Dec. 17, spokesman Mike Violette told Progressive Grocer, adding that although the company has serviced c-stores for some time, it created the division as a distinct entity just last month.

"We've significantly expanded our services and expertise to meet the particular needs of convenience retailers in recent years," noted AG New England president and c.e.o. Mike Bourgoine. "Stephen has made a significant impact as our convenience store sales manager since 2005." Felton joined AG New England in that year, after more than 20 years at 7-Eleven in multiple areas of responsibility, including operations manager. He's also a former storeowner and operator.

Owned entirely by independent retail grocers as members of a cooperative AG New England, the largest retailer-owned wholesale grocery distribution center in the region, serves independent retail food stores in Maine, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and the upstate New York/Albany area, including almost 500 supermarkets and convenience retail stores.
