Ahold USA is expanding its demand management solutions across its Stop & Shop Supermarket Company, LLC, Giant of Maryland, LLC, and Giant Food Stores, LLC divisions to drive deeper consumer insights, and enhance its merchandising and marketing strategies.
The retailer is using San Carlos, Calif.-based DemandTec’s nextGEN software services to model and understand consumer behavior. “Ahold USA is dedicated to engaging our customers by anticipating and fulfilling their needs,” said Dave McGlinchey, SVP of merchandising support at Stop & Shop/Giant of Landover. “DemandTec’s nextGEN solutions help us improve our knowledge of shoppers and enable us to make better marketing and merchandising decisions. In expanding our partnership with DemandTec, we expect to further enhance our ability to take action based on our customers’ wants and needs.”
Ahold USA operates the Stop & Shop Supermarket Co. LLC, with headquarters in Quincy, Mass.; Giant of Maryland, LLC, based in Landover, Md; and Giant Food Stores, LLC, based in Carlisle, Pa. Collectively they operate more than 700 stores in the United States and had annual revenue in excess of $20 billion in 2008. Ahold USA has been a DemandTec customer since 2005.
