Albertson's LLC Bows $4.99 Prescription Discount Program
Albertson's LLC yesterday introduced a new membership-based Albertsons Rx-tra Savings prescription discount program at all pharmacies to provide member households with discounts on generic and brand name medications -- including up to a 30-day supply of over 500 generic drugs -- for only $4.99.
"The program is a low-cost alternative for our pharmacy patients," said Raymond McCall, v.p. of pharmacy operations for Albertson's LLC. "With over 500 prescription medications on our $4.99 formulary and additional discounts on many other medications, it's our hope that this program will benefit those who need it the most."
The Rx-tra Savings program includes generic alternatives for commonly prescribed drugs used to treat disease states such as diabetes, asthma, depression, heart disease, thyroid, and other health problems.
Members join the program for a one-time $10 fee, which covers all members of the household; and there are no restrictions on the number of participants or prescriptions. For a limited time, shoppers who register for the program will receive a $10 Albertsons gift certificate.
The new program replaces Albertsons' discontinued "Meet or Beat" prescription pricing program.
Albertson's LLC operates more than 250 stores under the Albertsons banner in Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Florida, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Texas.
