    Alexia Wants Help Reimagining the French Fry

    Consumers can vote for a proposed new product on Facebook.

    Fans of comfort-food favorites can now “Reinvent a Classic with Alexia.” The campaign, which runs through March 1, 2011, enables www.Facebook.com/AlexiaFoods visitors to decide what Alexia Foods’ next French fry will be by voting for a potato variety and flavor pairing, and then matching their selection to their preferred fry cut.

    “At Alexia, we love food,” said Mauro Pennella, VP and general manager at the Eagle, Idaho-based frozen food manufacturer, whose earlier innovative takes on the classic side dish include Spicy Sweet Potato Julienne Fries with Chipotle Seasoning, and Oven Reds with Olive Oil, Parmesan & Roasted Garlic. “We love talking about it, we love making it, and we love eating it. And we know the American public does, too. That’s why we can’t wait for food lovers on Facebook to elect the next Alexia fry to hit store shelves.”

    Voting options are as follows:

    • Potato flavor pairings: Carolina BBQ Sweet Potato, Chili Lime Sweet Potato, Caribbean Jerk Russet Potato or Parmesan Lemon Russet Potato
    • Fry cuts: Julienne, Crinkle or Waffle

    The Alexia fry chosen by the most voters will arrive at retail in fall 2011. As an extra incentive, all those who take part in the Facebook vote will receive a $1-off coupon redeemable for Alexia frozen products, while supplies last.
