The new dates for the 2009 All Candy Expo will be May 19-21, organizers of the annual event said yesterday. The date shift was made to continue the Tuesday-Thursday date pattern preferred by attendees and exhibitors.
The new date pattern will also offer a more convenient travel schedule around the Memorial Day weekend.
"By ensuring more convenient travel dates for show participants and attendees, Expo attendance will continue to grow next year," said Larry Graham, president of the National Confectioners Association (NCA), which sponsors the event.
The show will retain its three-day format at Chicago's McCormick Place West Building.
In 2008, the Expo featured nearly 450 confectionery and snack companies from around the world, and attracted nearly 12,000 qualified industry professionals from 69 countries who came to get a sneak peek of over 2,000 new snack and confectionery items before they hit store shelves.
