The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co., Inc. is helping its customers gear up for rough winter weather. Through a series of in-store communications at over 384 A&P, Waldbaum’s, SuperFresh, and Pathmark supermarkets and their corresponding Web sites, the grocer has established a Winter Weather Preparedness Guide, featuring key items that every household needs to stay safe during the wild storms of winter.
A&P reminds shoppers that since bad weather can occur any time, they should equip their homes and cars with such items as a shovel; first-aid kit; flashlights; a battery-powered radio; extra batteries; bottled water; canned foods such as soup, vegetables, and fruit; and battery-powered can opener.

Additional online planning tips from the company include staying tuned to the latest news and remembering to gas up the car before a storm hits.
A&P operates 447 stores in eight states and the District of Columbia under the following banners: A&P, Waldbaum's, Pathmark, Best Cellars, The Food Emporium, Super Foodmart, Super Fresh, and Food Basics.
