Before that, he was OfficeMax’s SVP of store operations. Hertz’s other previous roles include VP of Wild Oats Stores, VP of store operations of ShopKo, and several field and VP-level positions at Kroger division Fred Meyer.
As A&P’s new EVP, operations, Hertz will head up the grocer’s field operations team.
“An important part of our turnaround is building a dynamic executive management team with the skills and expertise necessary to lead our company to excellence,” said A&P executive chairman Christian Haub. “With his high-level skill set and vast experience, [Hertz] not only believes excellence can be achieved, but he is also able to illuminate the path to it.”
