The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co., Inc. (A&P) has rolled out two pharmacy services to help busy customers manage their prescriptions and enable shoppers to be informed as soon as medications are ready to be picked up. Since time-pressed consumers are increasingly communicating by e-mail and cell phone, the Northeast grocer’s pharmacies have adopted the same technology to convey automatic refills and e-mail or text message reminders.
“We’re committed to providing our customers with superior services that offer simple ways to stay healthy while managing their daily routines,” explained A&P director of pharmacy Robin Page. “These new services fit seamlessly into their day and remove the worry of checklists and self-reminders, as well as the health risks of running out of much needed medications. It also saves unnecessary trips to the pharmacy to order medication and check-in on the status of prescriptions.”
The services are available free of charge to all A&P, Pathmark, Waldbaum’s, SuperFresh and Food Basics pharmacy customers, who can can enroll in the programs by calling or visiting their A&P banner pharmacist.
Montvale, N.J.-based A&P operates 429 stores in eight states and the District of Columbia under the following banners: A&P, Waldbaum’s, Pathmark, Best Cellars, The Food Emporium, Super Foodmart, Super Fresh and Food Basics.
