Hershey’s Buck Named NEW Champion

Michele G. Buck, president, North America for The Hershey Company, has been honored as a Network of Executive Women (NEW) Champion. NEW Champions are a select group of high-level leaders who advance the organization's mission at their respective companies and throughout the retail/consumer goods industry.

"Michele's approach to business, employee development and opportunity demonstrate her commitment to diversity and inclusion," noted Joan Toth, president and CEO of Chicago-based NEW. "She leads by example, and her success proves the value of gender diversity in the industry’s executive ranks."

Buck leads Pennsylvania-based Hershey's U.S. and Canadian businesses, delivering more than $6 billion of revenue and about 90 percent of the company’s business. Her previous role at the company was SVP, global chief growth officer. Before joining Hershey in 2005, Buck was an officer at Northfield, Minn.-based Kraft Foods. During her 17 years at Kraft/Nabisco, she held various senior-level positions, among them SVP and general manager for Kraft Foods Confections.

She will be a featured panelist at the NEW Executive Leaders Forum 2014, slated for July 29-31 in Los Angeles.
