With beef the center of attention on many holiday tables, the Beef Checkoff invites retailers to create some excitement at the meat case with its new Holiday Roast materials.
Complete with updated photos and new holiday roast recipes, the 2010 Holiday point-of-sale (POS) items are now available for purchase in the Beef Merchandising Resource by clicking on New Items.
Established as part of the 1985 Farm Bill, the Beef Checkoff Program ssesses $1 per head on the sale of live domestic and imported cattle, in addition to a comparable assessment on imported beef and beef products. States retain up to 50 cents on the dollar and forward the other 50 cents per head to the Cattlemen's Beef Promotion and Research Board, which administers the national Checkoff program, subject to USDA approval
