Bi-Lo Appoints V.P.s

MAULDIN, S.C. -- Regional grocer Bi-Lo here has promoted three executives to various v.p.-level positions in charge of the perimeter as well as center of the store.

Steve Mayer, who has served as v.p. of produce/floral marketing since joining Bi-Lo in 2003, will now act as group v.p. for perishables. Mayer has more than 25 years of experience in the grocery business and holds Ph.D. in business administration. In his new role, he will be responsible for meat, seafood, produce, floral, and deli/bakery marketing.

John Gianakas has been named v.p. of brand marketing and sales planning. He is a 19-year veteran of Bi-Lo and has held key roles in store management, human resources, and most recently, served as v.p. of category management support.

Rob Mould was promoted to a new position in the company, v.p. of center store category management. In this role, he will have direct accountability for all non-perishable category management teams, category management analytics, and the ISE department. He was formerly senior director for non-perishables.
