Bi-Lo Donates $2.5 Million to Greenville Children's Hospital
MAULDIN, S.C. -- Bi-Lo Charities presented a gift of $2.5 million to Greenville Hospital System Children's Hospital last week, marking the largest donation to a single charity given by Bi-Lo. As a result of its generosity, the Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Center (PHOC) within GHS Children's Hospital will be renamed the Bi-Lo Children’s Cancer Center.
The gift, which comes from funds raised at Bi-Lo’s annual golf tournament, will permanently fund vital psychosocial programs of the PHOC.
Since its inception in 1984, the Bi-Lo Charity Classic golf tournament has raised over $40 million for nonprofit organizations in Bi-Lo's four-state operating area of South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee.
