BI-LO plans to install NCR Blockbuster DVD vending kiosks at all 207 grocery stores throughout South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee, replacing 168 existing DVD kiosks from another vendor.
“People instantly recognize the Blockbuster Express brand as a place to go to make each night a movie night,” said Justin Hotard, VP and GM, NCR Entertainment. “Now BI-LO customers can choose a DVD from our kiosks as they shop for their groceries.”
BI-LO customers will be able to rent their new and classic DVD titles for $1 per night 24 hours a day from the kiosks, which will be located outside the store at most locations. Customers swipe a credit card to rent a DVD, and can keep the DVDs as long as they want, and return their selections to any Blockbuster Express kiosk. Each kiosk can hold more than 950 DVDs each.
Mauldin, S.C.-based BI-LO operates 207 supermarkets in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Tennessee, and employs approximately 15,100 people.
