Bi-Lo Ups Faulhaber to VP of Sales

Kip Faulhaber has been named VP of sales at Bi-Lo, LLC, where he will now oversee all of the strategic coordination of sales efforts for the 214-store chain.

Faulhaber, who joined the Mauldin, S.C.-based regional retailer in April of this year as VP of strategic initiatives, brings extensive experience in merchandising, marketing, procurement and operations, with more than 30 years of experience in the grocery industry, to his position.

“Leveraging his strong understanding of the company and the marketplace, [Faulhaber] knows the crucial role Bi-Lo Teammates play in delivering outstanding service to each and every Bi-Lo customer, works with teams throughout the organization to uphold and exceed the company’s standards and, as a result, drives sales,” said Michael Byars, Bi-Lo president and CEO.

In his most recent role at Bi-Lo, Faulhaber handled competitive analysis, business process development and targeted marketing programs, as well as overseeing related in-store planning execution. Prior to that, he was VP of center store merchandising for Dallas-based Minyard Food Stores and was formerly director of center store merchandising for Southern Family Markets in Birmingham, Ala. He has also worked as the director of procurement with Keene, N.H.-based C&S Wholesale Grocers.

Beginning his career in the grocery industry as a sales clerk for Acme Markets in Philadelphia during college, Faulhaber has held every type of position within a grocery store, from store manager, buyer and merchandiser, to marketing director and director of store operations.

With a workforce of approximately 15,500, Bi-Lo’s 214 supermarkets are located in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee.
