Brookshire Grocery Co. is serious about FRESH, the grocer's new concept store that is scheduled to open late next year in its hometown of Tyler, Texas. After 18 months of research, Brookshire's assembled six handpicked associates from all areas of the company to help design and roll out the new concept, according to Louis Mathis, svp of strategic initiatives for Brookshire Grocery and senior sponsor of the new store.
"This group is the nucleus of FRESH," Mathis said:
Willie Griggs, director of strategic initiatives, will be the project manager and cover facility design.
--Glenn Terrell, corporate culinary development chef, will cover prepared foods development for the new concept.
--Dave Moss, director of merchandising and space management.
--Mitchell Chambers, market supervisor, district 7, will direct category management and product assortment.
--Debbie Mooney, HR coordinator, district 2, will cover HR and training for the new store.
--Rae Champagne, strategic initiatives planner, will handle communications and marketing for the FRESH by Brookshire concept.
