In an effort to help its shoppers deal with the rising cost of gasoline, Brookshire Grocery Co. will offer consumers discounts on groceries starting August 6 when they fill their gas tanks at 23 of the company's Super 1 Foods supermarkets with fuel centers in Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas.
"When customers purchase $35 or more in gasoline at a Super 1 Foods fuel center, they can present that fuel receipt in the store and receive a 5 percent discount on their grocery purchase," said Rick Rayford, Brookshire's c.e.o. "Everyone has been hit hard by rising energy costs-businesses and individuals alike. This is one way we can help. We offer everyday low prices on groceries and gas anyway, so this is something shoppers should really take advantage of," he added.
