Brookshire's Donates 40,000 Pounds of Food

Brookshire Grocery Co. (BGC) has donated 40,000 pounds of food to the East Texas Food Bank for Hunger Action Month. In addition, a one-day food drive was held at stores in Tyler and Longview.

“Brookshire Grocery Company is known for friendly service and community support, and this truckload donation is one way we can help others in our community,” said BGC president and CEO Rick Rayford. “We realize that many people have trouble providing adequate meals for their families, so it is our desire to partner with the East Texas Food Bank to fill some of these needs.”

Tyler, Texas-based BGC operates 153 stores in three states -- Texas, Louisiana and Arkansas -- with three distribution centers and seven manufacturing facilities.
