Buehler's Adds Online Grocery Shopping

Following a partnership that began last November, 13-store, family-owned Buehler's is launching a full scale online grocery shopping initiative with MyWebGrocer, that will enable customers to browse online circulars, create shopping lists, and go grocery shopping when ever they choose.

Company officials say the service, along with the rest of the Wooster, Ohio-based Buehler's other online capabilities, will allow the grocer to engage their consumers in ways that have never been possible.

"With 94 percent of U.S. consumers shopping online, Buehler's is proud to offer our shoppers this additional service," said Mary McMillen, the regional grocerís director of consumer affairs. "This is going to be a very valuable resource for our time-pressed consumers."

Curt Alpeter, s.v.p. of sales for MyWebGrocer, says in an age where competing with the big box stores is becomes ever more challenging, "One of the key strengths of online shopping is the ability for the consumer to consolidate purchases. Statistically we know that when a consumer can pick up everything they need in one convenient stop, they are much less likely to shop products at discount stores."
