    Cal Giant Whips Up Berry Smooth Contest

    Sweepstakes aims to up fresh berries use, build brand loyalty

    California Giant Berry Farms is partnering with Hamilton Beach to increase the use of fresh berries and build brand loyalty by sponsoring a smoothie sweepstakes through social media channels.

    The promotion launched in April, with well over 1,000 people entering every week for a chance to win a Hamilton Beach Smoothie Smart Blender. In addition to thousands of entries logged to date through the Watsonville, Calif.-based company’s website and Facebook page, consumers are sharing their favorite smoothie recipes, among other displays of gratitude for the engaging promotion. In fact, the company says it has picked up more than 3,000 new “likes” on its Facebook page, which have reached nearly 26,000.

    “We are excited about this springtime campaign for our consumers and to be working with Hamilton Beach since they just added this new blender model to their line of products,” said Cindy Jewell, Cal Giant’s marketing director. “We are also enjoying the opportunity to share great recipes submitted by our consumers that love using our berries in their daily smoothies.”

    The national sweepstakes with Hamilton Beach will continue through July 2, 2012 until California Giant Berry Farms shifts gears and launches its summer baseball promotion in cooperation with KNBR Radio and the San Francisco Giants.
