Campbell Names New Europe President

CAMDEN, N.J. -- Campbell Soup Co. here said yesterday it has appointed John Sechi President, Europe. Sechi, a Canadian national, will oversee Campbell's portfolio of brands across the region and the creation of a long-term sustainable growth strategy for the company's European business.

Reporting to Larry McWilliams, Campbell International, Sechi will be based in Campbell's European headquarters in Puurs, Belgium.

A consumer goods industry veteran with over 25 years of experience, Sechi joins the company from Globalpraxis Group, a management consulting firm, where he was chairman and senior partner. Before that, he spent 16 years with the Coca-Cola Co., where he served in various senior general management roles in Europe, among them president and division manager of the company's German and Central Mediterranean business units, in which capacity he was responsible for a $3.5 billion business.

"John has an outstanding track record in delivering strong results in the consumer goods industry," said McWilliams in a statement. "His considerable expertise will complement our strong European and international management team."

Campbell's brands in Europe include Liebig and Royco in France, Devos Lemmens and Royco in Belgium, Erasco in Germany, and Bla Band in Sweden and Finland, as well as Campbell branded items across the region.

Sechi replaces Jacques Van den Wouwer who has served in the position on an interim basis for the past 12 months. Van den Wouwer plans to resume his retirement.

Among Campbell's portfolio of market-leading brands are Campbell's, Pepperidge Farm, Arnott's, V8, and Godiva.
