CHEP Inks New Deal with ConAgra; Expands Dole Banana Program

CHEP has added a major CPG industry leader to its customer base and has expanded its relationship with Dole Fresh Fruit Co., a subsidiary of Dole Food Co.

CHEP’s new deal with ConAgra Foods covers a multi-year contract for CHEP’s pallet pooling services to ship products from all of its consumer divisions to supermarkets, club stores, wholesalers and mass merchants throughout the United States.

Brian Malloy, SVP & chief customer officer, relayed CHEP’s enthusiasm to help the Omaha-based ConAgra Foods, which he described as “as one of the most advanced grocery suppliers in the world…meet its customers’ needs,” while concurrently praising its demonstrated “meticulous controls within its supply chain.”

Meanwhile, having used CHEP pallets for its USA-based fresh vegetable business since 2006, Dole is also in the process of transporting bananas on CHEP pallets from processing facilities in Costa Rica, Guatemala and Honduras to supermarkets, wholesale clubs and distributors in the USA and Canada.

All of the CHEP pallets Dole uses to transport its bananas from Central America to the USA and Canada are in full compliance with ISPM-15 phytosanitary regulations.

“CHEP is delighted to be expanding our activities with Dole, and we look forward to advancing the relationship with new and better solutions for their product handling challenges,” said CHEP USA SVP of sales & marketing Karen Hempel. “We continue to be committed to providing Dole and all of our customers with the highest level of service and product quality.”

CHEP is a global leader in managed, returnable and reusable packaging solutions, serving many of the world's largest companies in sectors such as consumer goods, fresh produce, beverage and automotive. For more information, visit www.chep.com.
