Clif Bar C.E.O. Leaves Company

BERKELEY, Calif. -- In a surprise move, Sheryl O'Loughlin, c.e.o. of Clif Bar & Co. here, quit the all-natural and organic energy and nutrition products maker to spend more time with her family and define the next phase of her career, the company said.

O'Loughlin, 40, a wife and the mother of two young boys, has been with Clif Bar for 10 years. She was named c.e.o. in June 2004.

Gary Erickson and Kit Crawford, Clif Bar's owners and founders, have resumed leadership of the privately-held company.

O'Loughlin joined Clif Bar in 1998 as the head of brand marketing. In 1999, she spearheaded the company's launch of Luna, the first whole nutrition bar for women.

"Clif Bar has been an amazing experience," O'Loughlin said. "I am honored to have worked with such an exceptional group of people and to have been part of a company that is creating positive changes in the world."
