Cold-Brewed Coffee

After three years of development, Vancouver, Wash.-based Hourglass Coffee has introduced an innovative coffee maker. The brewing system uses no heat or electricity; instead, it brews the coffee using a patent-pending cold-water infusion process that turns out a low-acid brew lacking bitterness. Additionally, the product is made from BPA-free plastic elements that prevent any BPA from leaching into the coffee. The coffee maker also uses a stainless-steel filter that doesn’t require paper filters and doesn’t need to be replaced. The suggested retail price is $69.95.
