Costco Wholesale Corp. has named Craig Jelinek its new president and COO. Most recently the Issaquah, Wash.-based club store chain’s EVP of merchandising since 2004, Jelinek had spent the previous 20 years in various management positions in warehouse operations.

Characterizing Jelinek as “a highly seasoned retail executive with over 25 years' experience at our company and over 35 years’ experience in the industry,” Sinegal said Costco’s new president would play a key role “in a broader range of decisions as we move the company forward.”

In addition to his president/COO duties, Jelinek also gained a seat on Costco’s board of directors.
