Coupons.com Free Mobile App Offers Printable Coupons, Integrates to Loyalty Cards

Coupons.com Inc.’s application for the iPhone and iPod touch — which enables mobile users to save with coupons they can print, save to their loyalty card, or redeem at the point of sale by showing coupons on their mobile devices — is now available as a free application in the Apple App Store.

“Our Coupons.com application gives mobile access to the thousands of dollars of savings available on Coupons.com, and even allows mobile redemption of hyperlocal coupons offered by retailers across the country,” said Steven Boal, CEO of Mountain View, Calif.-based Coupons.com. “Coupons.com turns a smart phone into a savings phone.”

The Coupons.com application allows mobile users to browse and select from hundreds of printable, Save to Card and Show & Save coupons. Here’s how each works:

—Printable Coupons: By clicking the “Coupons” tab, mobile users can browse available offers and select the ones they want using the “Clip” option. They can then print the coupons wirelessly to HP printers or send the coupons to an e-mail address for printing later
—Save to Card Coupons: Under the “Savings Card” tab, users can browse available offers and select the ones they want using the “Add to Card” option — even while they shop. The coupons are automatically loaded to the user’s retail store loyalty card. When the loyalty card information is entered at checkout, coupons are automatically deducted from the total, without the need for clipping or scanning printed coupons
—Save to Card supports shopper loyalty programs from Safeway, Vons, Dominick’s, Genuardi’s, Randalls, Tom Thumb, Pavillions and Carrs, which span over 1,700 stores in the Western, Southwestern, Rocky Mountain, Midwestern, and Mid-Atlantic regions of the United States and in western Canada. Loyalty programs for additional retail chain partners will be added in coming months

In addition, Coupons.com offers over 12,000 hyperlocal offers from retailers and service providers across the country, including pizzerias, plumbers, dry cleaners and dog walkers. With the “Local Offers” tab, mobile users browse a list of available coupons and click on the ones they want. They can also choose to browse coupons from nearby retailers and service providers based on GPS location, and even pull up a map leading them directly to the merchant offering the savings. Shoppers can choose to browse offers ahead of time or browse at the point of service, and simply show the coupons right on their phones for savings.
