Crunch Pak Runs Summer Photo Contest

Sliced-apple leader Crunch Pak is marking summer with a photo contest promoted on the company’s Facebook page. The competition invites people to take photos of themselves or their friends and family enjoying Crunch Pak products in favorite outdoor locations. The photos are then posted on Crunch Pak’s wall, with winners chosen by the number of people who “like” a photo each month. At the close of each month, Crunch Pak awards $50 VISA gift cards to the six photos with the most votes.

The aim of the contest is to increase the number of Crunch Pak’s Facebook Friends explained Tony Freytag, director of national marketing at the Cashmere, Wash.-based company. Crunch Pak is placing more than 300,000 stickers with the company’s Facebook address on all of its 14-ounce bags of sliced apples.

“We are continually looking for new and interesting ways to engage with people who buy our products,” noted Freytag. “This summer, we thought a photo contest would be a tasty deal.”

The contest is the first in a series of Facebook promotions scheduled for the year, including a back-to-school competition. Additionally, Crunch Pak will begin adding to packages 10 to 12 QR (quick response) codes with various messages, the first being details on the Facebook summer photo contest.

Among Crunch Pak’s brands are Crunch Pak, Crunch Pak with Disney, Crunch Pak Organics and BK Apple Fries. Annually, the company creates more than 1 billion apple slices at plants in Cashmere and Pennsylvania.
