Delaware Secretary of Agriculture Ed Kee paid a visit on Aug. 17 to a BJ’s Wholesale Club in Millsboro, Del., to learn about the warehouse club's “Farm to Club” locally grown produce program.
Farm to Club provides BJ’s members in the First State with fresh produce from Vincent Farms in Delmar, Del., which is packaged and marked with the program's logo and lists the name of the farm and town where the items were grown.
Grower Ray Vincent of Vincent Farms; Scott Anthony, general manager of the Millsboro BJ’s; and BJ’s Produce Buyer Dominic Vigilione were among those on hand to greet Kee and provide him with an overview of the program’s successes, challenges and possible future initiatives.
