A new promotion from Delhaize America gives shoppers across its banners in 16 southeastern states the opportunity to win as much as $250,000 in prizes. The Salisbury, N.C.-based company, part of Brussels-based retail conglomerate Delhaize Group expects to award a total of over $5 million to about 3 million customers during the summer promotion, with prizes ranging from $1 to $250,000 per winning scratch-and-win game card.
The promotion, which began last week, will continue until all game cards are distributed have been given out. To take part in the giveaway, customers can do the following:
--Receive a game card with every qualifying transaction. Loyalty card customers may receive bonus cards by buying Bonus Game card products, which will be highlighted through store signage
--Scratch off three circles on each card. If the three circles match, customers can scratch the Prize Box to find out what cash prize they’ve won. Instructions for prize redemption on the game card
--A mail-in entry method that doesn’t require a purchase is also available. For more information, customers can check out the official game rules, and other details on any of the banner Web sites
According to the company, this is the first contest promotion to involve all Delhaize America banners: Bottom Dollar Food, Hannaford, Sweetbay, and the Food Lion family of banners -- Food Lion, Bloom, Harveys and Reid’s.
