Newcastle Werewolf Set for Fall Return

Following its success in 2013 as the top-selling imported limited edition, Newcastle is bringing back its popular Werewolf Blood-Red Ale, available August through October in 6- and 12-packs.

Newcastle Werewolf features a sweet berry fruit with roasted caramel notes up front, followed by a bite from Fuggle and Golding hops at the finish.  Brewed with rye malts, responsible for its naturally blood-red color, the offering is 4.5 percent ABV.

“We’re pretty sure most of the stories about werewolves are totally made up, but I promise you this: the return of Newcastle Werewolf is very real,” said Quinn Kilbury, brand director for Newcastle Brown Ale, a brand of White Plains, N.Y.-based Heineken USA. “And just in case werewolves are real, I want to let you know that Newcastle Werewolf has certain magical qualities that not only make it taste awesome but also help you ward off werewolves. Just in case you’re worried about that sort of thing.”

Newcastle Werewolf will be supported by a national social and digital campaign, local sampling and point-of-sale materials and displays at retail.
