Mondelez Names Robert Marques EVP and President, North America

Mondelez International has named Robert Marques EVP and president, North America, succeeding Mark Clouse, who took on a new role as chief growth officer in July 2014. Marques' appointment is effective in mid-March.

Marques will take on responsibility for leading the company's $7 billion business in the U.S. and Canada. The position also includes a business sponsorship of the company's Supply Chain Reinvention Steering Committee and Sales & Marketing Optimization team, as well as membership in the Mondelez Growth Council.

Marques joins the company from Johnson & Johnson, where he most recently served as company group chairman, Consumer North America, overseeing beauty, baby and personal products and over-the-counter medicines.

"I'm delighted to welcome Roberto to the Mondelez International family," said Chairman and CEO Irene Rosenfeld, to whom Marques will report. "His knowledge of consumer brands, strong leadership capabilities and extensive global experience make him a terrific addition to our North America region and my leadership team.  He will play a critical role in driving our growth and margin-expansion agendas."

The announcement follows a series of big changes for the Deerfield, Ill.-based snack giant, including the appointment of a new EVP and CFO, U.S. sales president, and more recently the company's acquisition of Enjoy Life Foods, the Schiller Park, Ill.-based leader in the $12 billion "free from" market.

Mondelez International owns such billion-dollar brands as Oreo, Nabisco and Trident, among others.
