Brand enlisted fan feedback to select new offering

The Snickers brand enlisted consumers to select the name of a new product through a vote on the brand's Facebook page, and Mars Chocolate North America has unveiled the winner.  Snickers Xtreme includes a single layer of crunch-roasted peanuts and smooth caramel blended with milk chocolate.

“A Snickers Bar packed with this much peanuts and caramel is sure to be a fan favorite – which is why we let them have the final say in how to name it,” said Roy Benin, chief consumer officer, Hackettstown, N.J.-based Mars Chocolate North America. “We were confident fans would choose a name that’s as satisfying as the bar itself, and they did.”

The new Snickers Xtreme bar will be available at retailers nationwide in 2015 in a “2 to Go,” 3.56-ounce format.
