Stew Leonard’s Adds Kid-Friendly Flourishes to Summer Doings

Stew Leonard’s is rolling out a number of child-oriented activities to its “Grill at Calf Pasture Beach” outdoor dining program this summer.

“We want to provide fun and affordable family activities for those staying close to home this summer,” said Joe Vota, manager at Stew Leonard’s Grill at Calf Pasture Beach. “Our costume character and movie nights are a great way to add excitement to a casual dinner on the beach, and our birthday parties will keep kids smiling from start to finish.”

From June 13 through Aug. 22nd, Stew Leonard’s costume characters will be at the Grill at Calf Pasture Beach every Saturday night from 6:30 p.m. through 7:30 p.m. to sign autographs, dance the hokey pokey and engage in games and activities with kids.

During some July and August Friday nights, 
popular G-rated movies, including “The Lion King,” “Finding Nemo,” “Shrek” and “Chicken Run,” will air at 7 p.m.

The Norwalk, Conn.-based grocer is also offering themed birthday parties at Calf Pasture Beach every day throughout the summer. “For just $250, parents can treat their child and nine of their friends to a party on the beach, with all the trimmings and none of the hassle,” noted Liz Blackett, birthday party manager. “You can’t find a better birthday deal. Plus, we do all of the work -- from sending out invitations to cleaning up.”

Each party of 10 includes a menu of pizza or nuggets and fries, juice, birthday cake and ice cream; decorations, invitations; games; crafts and; party favors. Stew Leonard’s provides luau, pirate and princess parties, with decorations, crafts and favors to match.

Serving such summer favorites as hamburgers, hot dogs, French fries, clam strips, and lobster dinners, the Grill at Calf Pasture Beach in East Norwalk, Conn., is open seven days a week during the summer, from noon until 8 p.m.
