A&P, Envipco Team on Reverse-vending Machines

The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co. Inc. (A&P) has inked a deal with Envipco Holding N.V. (EHNV), a provider of recycling systems and solutions to the beverage and retail industries, which will install and maintain its state-of-the-art reverse-vending machines (RVM) in all of the grocer’s locations in New York and Connecticut, where beverage recycling deposits are required by law.

"The decision to partner with Envipco was a simple one, due to their advanced technology and service support," said Brian Fitzpatrick, COO of Montvale, N.J.-based A&P. "This partnership provides our stores with a sanitary and modern solution to meet our customers' redemption needs."

Easier for customers to use due to less item rejection and an intuitive, user-friendly platform, Envipco’s machines feature ADA-compliant RVM technology encompassing container input speeds, compaction and reliability.

A&P operates about 300 stores in six states under the following banners: A&P, Best Cellars, Food Basics, The Food Emporium, Pathmark, Superfresh and Waldbaum's.
