Skogen’s Festival Foods, Packers to Run 2 Eateries

Skogen’s Festival Foods has teamed up with the Green Bay Packers to operate two eateries, the Titletown Grill and Boomerang Café, in the Lambeau Field Atrium.

The venues will mark their first day of operations on July 29, the 2010 date of the legendary football team’s yearly shareholders meeting, and then be open for training camp, Packers game weekends and special events.

Mark Skogen, CEO and president of Onalaska, Wis.-based Festival Foods, characterized the operation of the eateries as a natural extension for the grocer, which recently opened The Marq to house its growing catering division and event business.

Skogen added that the restaurants would give the Festival Foods “the opportunity to extend our brand and service commitment to guests during Packers games and other events.”

According to Packers president and CEO Mark Murphy, the food retailer’ “first-class operation of the eateries will enhance our relationship. Starting with the Frozen Tundra Hockey Classic in 2006, and continuing with other events such as Festival of Lights, our fans have appreciated the excellent work of Festival Foods.”

The 13-store, family-run chain is also is the official tailgate headquarters of the Packers, and its Festy Burger is the official hamburger of Lambeau Field.

The Titletown Grill and The Boomerang Café will replace Chili John’s and the Brett Favre Two-Minute Grill, whose operating contracts have expired.

Festival Foods is currently gearing up to open its 14th store this fall, in Suamico, Wis.
