Fareway to Open Second Meat Market

Following up on the successful launch of its new concept store in Omaha, Fareway Stores Inc. plans to open a 6,500-square-foot full-service meat market in the Rockledge Square Shopping Center in Lincoln, Neb.

The new store will be the second of its kind for the Boone, Iowa-based grocery retailer, after the first one launched last spring

“Our Fareway Meat Market offers a new experience when customers think of Fareway,” said Fareway CEO Reynolds W. Cramer. “We complement our unmatched, full-service meat department by offering an expanded seafood section, artisan cheeses, high-quality wines and craft beers, as well as other unique items.”

Construction is expected to begin within the next 30 days, with completion anticipated by late fall. The space, to be designed by Nebraska-based TACKarchitects, will offer “high-end finishes, blending Fareway’s history with a fresh perspective,” the company said.

Fareway Stores Inc. operates nearly 120 store locations in Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Nebraska and South Dakota.
