Kings Food Markets Promotes 3

Kings Food Markets has promoted three employees within its merchant departments this month.

Arthur Goncalves, director of seafood sales and merchandising, is now VP, produce and floral. An 18-year associate of Kings, Goncalves began his career with the grocer as an assistant store manager, rising through the ranks to hold positions in operations, center store merchandising, engineering, maintenance and construction, before taking on perishables merchandising.

Scott Zoeller, VP of deli sales and merchandising, is now VP of deli, meat and seafood. Zoeller joined the company in December 2004, holding a number of deli-related positions and building a team that has generated tremendous growth in the areas of prepared foods, deli and cheese.

Rick Michener, director of in-store prepared foods and chef operations, is now director of seafood sales and merchandising, succeeding Goncalves in this role. In his four years at Kings, Michener has held three positions in the business and operations divisions.

"Our employees continue to raise the bar year after year, constantly making us look ahead to what's next, and I'm certain that we are even further positioned for growth and innovation in the future," noted Judy Spires, president and CEO of Parsippany, N.J.-based Kings, which operates 25 upscale grocery stores in New Jersey, New York and Connecticut.
