Del Monte Names 3rd ‘Find Your Inner Chef’ Winner

Del Monte Fresh Produce has named Areli Biggers of Hopkinton, Mass., the third of four weekly winners of its “Find Your Inner Chef” online contest. Biggers will move on to the Cook Off Challenge to be held in Miami, Fla.

“We congratulate Areli Biggers for being selected as our third week winner,” said Dennis Christou, VP of Marketing, North America for Del Monte. “Areli’s winning recipe, Banana Flan using Del Monte fresh bananas is not only a testament of her impeccable taste buds, but also an example of her culinary talent. We look forward to meeting Areli in Miami and seeing her in action.”

The contest encourages consumers to participate in a fresh culinary experience by creating or using their favorite recipe with Del Monte fresh fruits and vegetables. Daily prizes include retail gift cards, culinary kitchen tools and tabletop appliances.

“My Banana Flan is always a tasty treat for me and my family,” said Biggers. “The Del Monte bananas I use are so fresh they help make my flan irresistible. Of course, I could not have won without the support of my friends and family. I want to express my gratitude to everyone who voted for me.”

Consumers can enter the contest by submitting their original recipe along with photos using Del Monte Fresh Produce products. The contest runs through June 15, 2013.
