Popcorn, Indiana Gets ‘The Biggest Loser’ Stamp of Approval

Popcorn, Indiana, the Englewood, N.J.-based maker of all-natural popcorn snacks, has inked a year-long agreement with NBC’s hit show “The Biggest Loser” to market its new line of FIT popcorn. Designed as a waistline-friendly snack that’s “big on taste,” Popcorn, Indiana’s new product line is officially Biggest Loser-approved as a snack that can be part of a healthy lifestyle.

“We think it’s time to put the fun back in fitness, and the FIT into snacking,” said Hitesh Hajarnavis, president and CEO of Popcorn, Indiana. “No longer does it have to be about being skinny and eating tasteless diet food – it’s time for Americans to enjoy getting fit and have a delicious, guilt-free snacking experience at the same time.”

All flavors of FIT popcorn -- including Sea Salt, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Parmesan & Herb and Onion Dijon -- boast 40 calories or less and 2 grams of fat per cup, and are designed for those who are looking to snack smarter (not just skinnier) and don’t want to sacrifice on flavor.

“In Popcorn, Indiana, we found a brand that aligns well with 'The Biggest Loser' seal of approval,” said Kerry O’Donnell, director, Global Licensing for NBCUniversal Television Consumer Products. “The launch of FIT popcorn is an ideal platform to communicate our message of living a healthier lifestyle.”

Popcorn, Indiana will be cross-promoting with the show's newly re-launched website, as well as using its own website and social media properties to offer product information, opportunities to purchase FIT online, and healthy snacking tips.

"The Biggest Loser" airs Mondays at 8/7c on NBC.
