Smart Flour Foods, Austin, Texas, has expanded its lineup of ancient-grain-based frozen pizzas with no artificial ingredients to include new chef-inspired Italian varieties: Chicken Sausage and Tuscan Inspired Uncured Two Meat. The former shares the flavors of roasted red peppers, onion, garlic and rosemary with sweet chicken sausage, while the latter pairs genoa salami and pepperoni with spicy peperoncini. The pizzas are made with a clean ingredient deck and are certified gluten-free, and feature real mozzarella and provolone cheeses that are free from rGBH, topped with meats free from nitrates and nitrites. The crusts are made with a blend of flours that contains sorghum, amaranth and teff, allowing for higher protein, vitamin and mineral content than content found in leading conventional and gluten-free pizza brands. They bake with a crispy outside and a chewy middle, and are Non-GMO Project Verified, vegan, soy-free, dairy-free and kosher. SRP is $6.99 to $7.99 per pizza.
