Stop & Shop Deploys Thanksgiving Ambassadors

In the run-up to Turkey Day, the Stop & Shop Supermarket Co. is offering Thanksgiving Ambassadors at each of its stores through Wednesday, Nov. 26.

Distributing catering brochures and free refrigerator magnets with cooking instructions, while supplies last, the ambassadors will help shoppers select from among fresh, frozen, natural, organic and kosher turkeys, and find holiday items, as well as providing cooking tips, recipes and advice on how best to store the inevitable leftovers.

"With the busy schedules that we are all faced with, many of our customers may not have time to find innovative, fresh and impressive recipes," noted Arlene Putterman, manager, public & community relations at Stop & Shop New York Metro Division, in Purchase, N.Y. "Stop & Shop's Thanksgiving Ambassadors will be on call during designated hours to provide tried-and-true recipes, and also offer some new suggestions that will be welcome additions to the Thanksgiving menu. The ambassadors will also be able to provide shoppers with tips on how to properly prepare and cook the Thanksgiving turkey."

Additionally, Stop & Shop's Pinterest page offers visuals, ideas and recipes for main courses, side dishes, desserts and appetizers, and its Own Brand products, including its Simply Enjoy gourmet line, provide a cost-effective entertaining and meal-planning option, according to the chain.
