Aldi Launches Gourmet Food Line
Aldi has introduced a new line of gourmet foods called Grandessa that features an assortment of upscale offerings like Roasted Chicken & Portobello Mushroom Ravioli, Sun Dried Tomato Salad Dressing, Artichoke Garlic Salsa, and Very Cherry Ice Cream, according to a report in the Moberly Monitor-Index in central Missouri.
The new line, available in stores now, represents the international retailer's first foray into the gourmet foods category. "We're thrilled to introduce our exclusive Grandessa line to Aldi shoppers. Our customers have come to expect great values from Aldi, and we know they'll be pleased to get those same values in these new gourmet products," said Carl Munyon, v.p. of corporate purchasing.
Currently offering 48 varieties, company officials say the Grandessa line will continue to expand to suit shoppers' needs.
Aldi, which specializes in a limited assortment of private-label products at low prices, operates more than 5,000 stores in the U.S., Europe and Australia.
