Big Y Rolls Out Targeted Shopper Promotion System

Big Y Foods this week has successfully deployed a new targeted shopper promotion system chain-wide to help enhance its marketing and lift sales.

The grocer is using the Targeted Shopper Promotion solution from Woburn, Mass.-based Incentive Targeting. “After three months of full operation, we are pleased with the Incentive Targeting system,” said Phillip Schneider, VP of sales and marketing at Big Y. “They allow us to leverage our World Class Express Savings Club card to deliver customized offers to each shopper.”

Incentive Targeting’s Web-based retail shopper marketing platform was developed to deliver robust capabilities at an affordable cost. Its features include:

—An intuitive, Web-based application designed to enable marketing managers to target shoppers and create promotions in minutes
—Secure, cloud-based software shares loyalty data between chains and brands, for behavioral targeting of shoppers
—Analytics capabilities to analyze sales and shopper data and monitor and measure promotion results and ROI daily

According to Incentive Targeting, the system enables retailers to collaborate with brands by sharing customer-centric sales data, enabling cost-effective brand participation in shopper marketing while improving category cooperation, driving profitability with private labels and broadening baskets to include high-margin departments.

Springfield, Mass.-based Big Y operates 56 stores throughout Connecticut and Massachusetts with over 9,200 employees.
