CB Ragland to Close Grocery Distribution Business

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - CB Ragland Co., a Nashville-based wholesale grocery distributor, has said it will close its warehouse and liquidate its assets in October after 83 years as an independent family business, The City Paper in Nashville reports.

The company is dissolving due to changes in the grocery store industry, said CB Ragland CEO Mike Hayes.

CB Ragland supplies food and general merchandise to independent retailers in Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina and Tennessee.

The company reportedly will maintain its Nashville distribution center, as well as its ICC Trucking and Colonial Realty subsidiaries.
