The Food Emporium to Proffer ‘Taste of Italy’

The Food Emporium stores in New York City will offer “A Taste of Italy” this week. Sponsored by the Italian Trade Commission, under the auspices of the Ministry of Economic Development, the event will introduce shoppers to more than 30 new and exclusive gourmet items from the European nation.

According to Italian trade commissioner Aniello Musella, “This promotion is one example of the many activities that falls within the framework of the ITC’s national campaign ‘Authentic Italian Food,’ a program implemented in collaboration with importers of Italian specialties, leading retail chains and fine restaurants throughout the United States.”

All 16 Manhattan stores will feature a wide assortment of brands, including Tarall’Oro artisan pastas, ROI extra-virgin olive oil and olive products, Corsini ground coffees; Chiostro Di Saronno Italian regional cookies; Venchi chocolate bars, and Durke Small Almond Cakes.

Additionally, customers will get to sample an assortment of imported Italian cheeses and cured meats, among them Mozzarella di Bufala, Gorgonzola Dolce, Mascarpone, Asiago Fresco, Parmacotto Prosciutto Di Parma, Salami and Parmacotto Mortadella.

The Food Emporium’s “Taste of the World” program debuted in 2008 to help promote specialty foods and beverages from around the globe. Products from A Taste of Italy will hit stores Friday, April 30.
