Freshdirect Offering Valentine's Day Tasting Menu
NEW YORK -- Online grocer FreshDirect here is launching a Valentine's Day menu, allowing its customers to "prepare an easy and romantic restaurant-quality meal for a special someone in the comfort of their own homes," in the words of the company. Orders can be placed now for deliveries on Feb. 8 through Feb. 13.

The tasting menu will provide one choice of an appetizer (Scallops, Salad, or Soup), entree (Surf and Turf or Cheese Fondue), and dessert (Almond Joy Cake, Chocolate Cake, and Passion Fruit Bread Pudding, each served with ice cream or sorbet).
All items the menu have been designed by FreshDirect's team of chefs, veterans of such prestigious New York restaurants as One if By Land, Two if By Sea; Tribeca Grill; and Nobu; to be easy enough for an amateur to cook, but sophisticated enough for a gourmand to savor.
FreshDirect's three-course Valentine's Day meal is priced according to entree choice. The price of the Surf and Turf entree is $99.99, while the Cheese fondue platter costs $69.99 or $89.99, with fondue pot included at the higher price.
Additionally, each dish on the menu serves two, with less than 20 minutes of total cooking time, guided by detailed step-by-step cooking and plating instructions.
