Golub Price Chopper Promotes 4 Execs

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- Price Chopper Supermarkets here yesterday said promoted a handful of executives with responsiobilities ranging from private label to operations.

Anne Davis was promoted to the v.p. of risk management, reporting directly to s.v.p. of finance, treasurer, and c.f.o. John Endres. In her new role Davis will oversee the workers compensation, food safety, business/community disaster recovery, corporate insurance and Loss Prevention departments for the Northeast regional retailer. An employee of Price Chopper since 1986 she has held positions in the accounting department and has served as chief accountant. Most recently Davis was assistant controller.

Regina Tator moved up to the position of director of private label, reporting directly to v.p. of sales and nonperishables Jim Mizeur. In her new position, Tator will guide the growth of corporate brand sales and the development and sourcing of new products. Tator most recently served as senior category manager of private label. Before joining Price Chopper in 1998, she was a senior buyer at Bi-Lo Wholesale Grocers.

Al Provancher was promoted to the position of regional v.p., reporting directly to v.p. of operations David Golub. Provancher will now be responsible for the financial results and operations for four zones comprising 53 Price Chopper stores New York and Pennsylvania. A Price Chopper employee since 1970 he has served as grocery manager, co-manager, store manager, district manager, human resource specialist, and, most recently, zone director.

Ed McManus was named to zone director, reporting directly to regional v.p. Al Provancher. As zone director McManus will handle the financial results and operations of 17 stores in the Binghamton/Utica/Amsterdam areas of New York state. Since coming to Price Chopper in1980, he has held various positions, including store manager, co-manager, grocery/GM specialist, and, most recently, center store coordinator.

The family-owned Golub Corp. owns and operates 111 Price Chopper grocery stores in New York, Vermont, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. Golub employs over 23,000 associates who collectively own 55 percent of the company's privately held stock.
