Lucini Italia has unveiled stand-up pouch packaging for its gourmet pasta source line. According to Miami-based Lucini, the new affordably priced, microwaveable pouches expand its reach to singles and smaller households that wouldn’t normally purchase the company’s traditional 25.5-ounce glass jars. Additionally, the packaging uses 70 percent less material than traditional glass jars and results in significant transport efficiencies, as well as less waste in terms of consumer consumption. Available in three of Lucini’s all-natural small-batch-prepared sauces — Tuscan Marinara with Roasted Garlic, Rustic Tomato Basil and Spicy Tuscan Tomato — the line of pouches retails for a suggested $3.99 each and comes in a shelf-ready branded master case of 12 from which the lid can be removed to create what Lucini calls a “very tasteful and impactful display in stores, with minimal labor.” Floor shipper displays are also available.
