NPB Launches Dedicated Retail Pork Site

The National Pork Board (NPB) has expanded its commitment to retailers by the virtue of going virtual. The new retail Web site, Porkretail.org, provides research, meat industry insights, a marketing promotions calendar and other valuable tools that will help retailers drive meat department sales.

Created using feedback from retailers who were looking for regular industry updates and turnkey ideas for supporting pork promotions, the new site is organized in an easy-to-navigate design, and includes the following features:

—Generic Seasonal Point-of-Sale: A go-to place for NPB’s seasonally appropriate POS materials, including merchandising kits with meat case signs, recipe brochures and posters. Each piece of collateral is available as a printable PDF on the site, or retailers can follow the simple steps online to order multiple quantities

—Industry Information: Retailers looking for updates on the latest news in the industry can visit the site to stay informed

—Research: Research capturing and analyzing consumer shopping habits, sales and volume trends, and creative merchandising opportunities for effective meat case marketing

Patrick Fleming, director of retail marketing for Des Moines, Iowa-based NPB, says the site’s current offerings will continue to be adapted and updated as retailers’ needs change and grow. “Porkretail.org is a dynamic extension of what the National Pork Board currently offers retailers,” he notes. “The site provides instant access to valuable tools, and we see it a resource that transforms with the industry.”
